G is for Ginger | A to Z Blogging Challenge

Blog Challenge, Health+FitnessAnaleisa LathamComment

My first exposure to ginger was receiving it in our produce co-op a year or so ago.
And then again in a juice cleanse I've done a few times since.
I like the taste though it can become overwhelming if consumed in large quantities. I do speak from experience.
The biggest health benefit of ginger, in my opinion, is easing stomach discomfort and aiding in digestion. I say this because I've experienced it!

Additionally, several studies have shown ginger can ease morning sickness in pregnancy. This article tells more.

I haven't ventured into using ginger in any recipes, other than juices. Any recommendations?

Fish.

Fish is good for you for three main reasons: it has high levels of protein, is easy to digest, and contains omega 3 fatty acids.

What are omega 3 fatty acids? I'm glad you asked because I finally found an explanation i understand!

They are thought to lower the blood pressure, to strengthen the immune system and to have positive effects on the development on the nervous system and the cardiovascular system.

I don't cook it a lot because I'm scared to overcook it. But we recently purchased a food thermometer that I'm loving, and I have no more excuses!
