So many color choices and not enough furniture to execute them all!
But...drum roll please...I have finally decided on paint colors for my 3 upcoming furniture painting endeavors. I mentioned here that picking these three colors was one of my March goals. And cha-ching...one thing to cross off my list!
First, the nightstand I inherited from my grandmother's estate. Except we won't be using it for a nightstand...it will be our new-to-us entry way table. And it's going to be...
I found this beauty while perusing Knack, a website for a local Greenville shop. (The above pictured chest is in her portfolio.) I emailed the shop owner and she's going to get the custom mix for me and have it in store for pick-up on Friday. You guys! How kind is that?!
I can't wait to get started. And don't worry - I'll be sure to include before and after photos.
Next is a bookcase, also inherited from my grandmother's estate. Right now it's a pinky/rose color and definitely doesn't fit the decor of the Latham house. It's going to be a rich grey to match our bedroom furniture. I may spice it up with a navy stripe or two...that remains to be seen. I don't have a color swatch of this yet, but stay tuned!
And finally the last project is a jewelry armoire, also from my grandmother's estate. (Are you seeing a trend here?) It's your basic oak-wood look presently. Once I'm done I'm hoping it will look more like this:
This piece is also from Knack. I think I may be obsessed. (You will be too if you check out her site and online shop, promise!) I'm going to try a new-to-me paint - Milk Paint and I'll finish it with some type of glaze.
Now, don't check back in the morning hoping I've finished these pieces. And don't hold your breath waiting either. My goal is to get the bookcase started by the end of the month and go from there. (The bookcase is first because it has become a necessity of late with our every growing book collection.)
Are you working on any furniture painting projects right now?
Tell me about them! What's the piece? What color are you using? Are you glazing or waxing? What are you planning to use to protect the finish?
