In order to make my 2014 LOVE Project something I can keep track of and look back on, I thought it would be best to break the year down into monthly segments for each of my LOVE More categories.
So, let's talk about my goals for House LOVE in January!
Here are the things I plan to accomplish:
- Chalkboard Mirror Re-do
- Family Yearbook
- Valentines Decor
1. Chalkboard Mirror Re-do
This has been a long time in the making. In fact, I'm pretty sure my husband is reading this right now saying, "Yeah, right, there's no way this one's getting done." Well Honey, watch out!
When I bought my house there was a mirror hanging in the living room that I didn't particularly like but also didn't want to throw out. I kept it thinking someday I might find something to do with it. Well about a two years ago that day came. I decided to frame it which, consequently, would cover the etched flowers in the corners that contributed the most to my dislike of it. Perfect solution! So I drug my then fiance to Home Depot to get some wood which we then measured and cut. But one thing led to another, throw in some wedding planning and first year of marriage fun, and it is yet unfinished.
Fast forward to a few months back when I decided that not only did I want to frame it, but I also want to paint it with chalkboard paint and hang it in our entry way. So that's what I'm going to do. Stay tuned...
2. Family Yearbook
If you know anything about Young House Love you'll know exactly what I mean when I say I'm going to make a Family Yearbook (check it out here). What a great way to display your favorite memories and pictures, and also get it all down on paper for future generations.
3. Valentines Decor
Decorating by the Holiday or Season sounds like such a pretty idea. I have done this some in the past but I want to re-charge and jump-start. I figure the house is just breathing a little breath of fresh air for January since the Christmas decorations just came down a week or so ago. But watch out February! I have grand plans for you!
Think I can get it all done? Have any suggestions for me?
